Sonny’s pays homage to the iconic NY-style pizzerias of the 80s, housed in a well-used 100-year-old former auto shop, the space retains its authentic roughness, enhanced with additions of a custom pizza oven imported from Italy, repurposed corrugated steel walls, a custom built mahogany staircase, leading to a mezzanine inspired by all our grandmas’ houses. The bar area is an unapologetic nod to the nostalgia of a grittier era, featuring a repurposed copper bar, which opens to the backyard dining area, surrounded by a 9ft steel graffiti fence. Sonny’s already feels like a neighborhood haunt.
