Step into this space and the energy is unmistakable. Natural light, sweeping views, and design details rooted in local identity immediately draw people in, including a signature blue ceiling inspired by the Coronado Bridge. Music hums in the background, providing a soundtrack for creativity and community. A meeting spills into the lounge. A chance conversation turns into a new idea. The energy is contagious, often drawing clients, partners, and guests back for meetings and events. Welcome to SmithGroup San Diego.
This LEED Silver office was designed around the belief that meaningful interactions deserve meaningful spaces. Balancing the poetic and pragmatic, it pairs a refined palette of earthy tones and textures with an efficient floorplan that fosters choice and connection. Workstations are pulled back from the window line so everyone can enjoy daylight and ocean views. The central “bridge” corridor links meeting rooms, agile work neighborhoods, and a flexible lounge anchored by a hand-painted mural celebrating local landmarks. Throughout the office, artifacts and storytelling moments connect San Diego to SmithGroup’s 173-year legacy while reinforcing a strong sense of place. The cherry on top is an ice cream wall, a playful reflection of the unique people who give the office its character.
