Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel is a newly remodeled boutique hotel along the Old Spanish Trail on Old Highway 80.
The town was originally brought to life by San Diego Mayor Bert Vaughan in the 1920s. Our hotel, built in the 1950s, was a destination for travelers and Hot Spring enthusiasts. The remodeled hotel, opened in 2023, has a bar, restaurant, three mineral hot spring pools and spacious, communal outdoor areas that host live music every weekend. In the remodel, we were intentional with material and finish selections and careful to use sustainable, conscious design throughout the property. We used wood, stone, ceramic and handmade materials and finishes throughout. Local lava rock was gathered and used for walls and planters throughout the property and we left the natural desert earth as the flooring for the exterior common areas. It is meant to be a grounding experience for guests and staff alike. Outdoor shade structures were built using eucalyptus timber from North Africa and reclaimed wood from the previous hotel was used to build doors and gates. The goal was to allow the natural surroundings of the Sonoran Desert be the star and maintain the integrity of the small town of 550 locals who frequent the pools, bar and restaurant. The hotel is a gathering place for all and welcomes everyone from out of town guests looking for an elevated experience to local community coming together for kinship. The hotel is more than just a vibe, it is an authentic human experience.

Heading there this weekend, 9/11/2026. This will be our third visit to this truly magical location. Driving in the first time was interesting but our stay was the most relaxing visit of all our destinations. The mineral pools, the food, and the ambiance are incredible. The decor is so unique.
Interior Design is often pushed as just Light and Space. But a next level designer should have an understanding of the Mystic. How a room enhances your nightly Dreaming. Is the space arranged to enhance an experience of being transported to another World. Not only from the daily labor of life, and not just a vacation of rest…but great design Surprises, great interiors shift worlds, it is the atmosphere of the Dream that has been accomplished by this designer.
A vote is easy, a visit is absolutely surreal and will make you want to tell every friend and return every year.

I cannot get out there enough. Everything about this place is magic, from the wonderful pools to soak my aging body, to the bar, the restaurant, the lake, music (including the LP selections in your room, to the relaxing and inspiring interiors of the rooms and exteriors.

It’s a beautiful place. The design team transformed Jacumba Hot Springs into a contemporary hotel while keeping the mystery of the desert.
We love this hidden gem in the desert. As a design family none of the details were lost on us. Now seeing the “before” photos, it’s even more remarkable, and it’s clear this win wasn’t handed to them on a silver platter. What a rescue mission- job well done!

I fell in love with this place. Every detail of each room you enter has been carefully planned out.
From the pierced lanterns that cast just the right patterns of light in the evening courtyards to the elegant billowing ceiling to floor curtains adding to the privacy when you first enter the ladies public changing room for the pools.
Did I mention I love this place? You just have to experience it for yourself.

We visited the hot springs for the first time last month. It was such a magical place. The spaces were just beautiful and reflected environment around them. We will definitely go again. I had done nothing but rave about this place since we got back home.

Visited last year with my Momma and we had the most glorious healing adventure there.
The design is stunning and welcoming. Pretty much my dream style. Working with the raw desert landscape everything seems to flow into the healing waters and the glorious sunsets. We have experienced many hot springs and this water is some of the best. I recommend this incredible place to everyone seeking some fun, healing and beauty. Love you Jacumba.
Decor is absolutely beautiful! Every single corner is well decorated, definitely attention to detail to give the Morrocan oasis vibes to lead you to the most amazing experience! I love this place. Perfect get away with your significant other, girlfriends, work or just me myself and I time.
The Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel is a delightful property. The rooms and the casitas are serene sanctuaries. I felt the tension just melt from my body when I stayed here. I don’t know if it is the Moroccan-inspired architecture and design or the warm color palette, but the place is beautiful and an absolute joy to visit.
