This restaurant is an absolute standout—not just for its incredible food, but for its striking architectural design and thoughtfully curated atmosphere. The space beautifully merges industrial modern style with vintage flair. From the outside, the bold black-and-wood facade and geometric glass windows immediately set the tone. Retro details and book-lined walls add character and nostalgia without feeling overdone. There’s a stylish rhythm between the clean, industrial lines and playful touches—like vintage decor—that make the environment feel both elevated and welcoming.Whether you’re a design lover, foodie, or just looking for a cool spot to enjoy a drink or dinner, this place delivers. 9. recently had the chance to explore three very different but equally exciting spots in Tijuana: Innato, La Lonchería Japonesa, and Montes. Each offers its own unique experience, and together they really showcase how diverse and creative the food scene in Tijuana has become.

Innato quickly became one of my favorites. It’s a modern seafood restaurant with Japanese influences, and every dish feels both fresh and carefully thought out. I tried the tiradito of bluefin tuna with avocado and shiitake, and it was absolutely outstanding—clean flavors with just the right balance of spice. The black aguachile also stood out, with shrimp marinated in a dark chile sauce that had a smoky depth I’d never tasted before. For something more indulgent, the Torre Marisquita (with shrimp, tuna, pulpo, and smoked pâté) is perfect for sharing. They also serve comforting dishes like seafood rice “a la tumbada.” To finish, the flan de la abuela and the churros with ice cream made a perfect ending. Pairing everything with cocktails and a glass of Baja wine really elevated the whole evening. The atmosphere is elegant but not pretentious, ideal for a date night or a nice dinner with friends.

On a more casual note, La Lonchería Japonesa offers a totally different vibe—it feels like stepping into a cozy Japanese izakaya. The focus here is on sharing plates: sushi, sashimi, yakitori skewers, and tempura. It’s the kind of place where you order several dishes and pass them around the table with friends. The drink list is just as important as the food, with plenty of sake, Japanese whisky, and ice-cold beer to go around. I loved how warm and unhurried the atmosphere was; it encourages you to just sit back, snack, and enjoy the company.

Finally, I got a glimpse of Montes, the rooftop concept in the same complex. It’s not fully up and running yet, but the idea is a Spanish tapas bar with creative cocktails and a DJ to set the mood. I can already imagine it being the perfect spot for an after-work drink or a late-night hangout overlooking the city.

Overall, each of these places left a strong impression. Innato is refined and creative, La Lonchería Japonesa is relaxed and authentic, and Montes looks like it will bring a lively, modern rooftop vibe.
