Fox Point Farms is a first-of-its-kind ‘agrihood’ in San Diego, where a regenerative farm is the life force for a surrounding 21-acre mixed-use community. Located in Encinitas, a team of next-gen artisans led by founder Brian Grover is working as one circular micro-economy to create a resilient model for sustainable living fueled by a 3-acre regenerative farm, zero-waste full-service restaurant, farm-to-tap organic brewery and coffee roaster, a farm-stand market & café, apothecary, wellness & event spaces, and more. Preserving horticultural land that once cultivated flowers for North County’s famous Ecke Ranch, the six year long development process celebrated completion in July of 2024. Alongside farmland and commercial retail space, 250 homes are currently under construction with partner Shea Homes.
The landscape architecture features several unique and engaging elements such as edible landscaping, community gardens, a natural children’s play area, trails, social spaces, a community library, and a community recreation center. The western project edge includes an edible paseo and the project’s water quality treatment basins which serve as a greenbelt softening the project’s edges. At the forefront of the design process was the desire to create a network of open spaces that immersed residents in the many agricultural amenities.
