The rehabilitation of the green areas and outdoor spaces at the ÁMBAR Interactive Center transformed its surroundings into a functional, attractive, and versatile environment that extends the educational experience beyond the building itself. The addition of gardens, gathering areas, and a multifunctional plaza provides space for workshops, cultural activities, community events, conferences, and school programs, benefiting thousands of visitors while strengthening the center’s role as a community gathering place. Beyond enhancing the site’s overall appearance and creating a more welcoming environment for families, these flexible outdoor spaces create new opportunities to host events and activities that generate revenue, contributing to the center’s long-term financial sustainability and ensuring the continuity of its educational and social mission for the benefit of the Tijuana community.
