Unexpected as it might be, One Paseo is brimming with a curated art collection. Visitors may not notice at first, but art is all around One Paseo, from murals painted around hidden corners, to large pieces flanking the parking garages. Art is one of the major pillars of One Paseo, their partnership with DPA Fine Art, a highly acclaimed art consulting firm, continues to bring enriching pieces to One Paseo. Recently, the community debuted two murals by American street artist fnnch – “Honey Bears” and “Walking Dog.” His “Honey Bears” series humorously references art that is democratized as an everyday item, personalizing it and humanizing the honey bear. At One Paseo the bears pay homage to San Diego and One Paseo in particular with one bear holding an ice cream cone and the other in a Padres hat holding a shopping bag. Facing the parking garage, this fun and playful mural greets shoppers in an unexpected place and adds art to what would otherwise be a plain wall. Another new and notable mural is the ‘Welcome to One Paseo’ done by local artist Jonny Pucci. The colorful piece features a VW bus with surfboards on top and poppy flowers surrounding it.
