Nomination 1: MTS installed this gigantic triangular video billboard at the the entry to the Gaslamp Quarter, at the foot of Fifth Avenue, opposite the Convention Center. MTS gets a cut of the advertising revenue generated. San Diego gets the worst of the Las Vegas Strip.
Nomination 2: The huge video sign park, at the intersection of 5th and L, across from the Gaslamp sign, is monstrous in its size, height, width. It has constantly changing video advertising images flashing in a very important historical space at the entrance to the Gaslamp Quarter.
Nomination 3: Too Big – ridiculous – not in keeping with the Gaslamp or anything in downtown. Too close to the ground. Too visible/obtrusive. Unfortunate that this is what conventioneers/visitors/ballpark attendees see as they go to the trolley station and into the Gaslamp.
