Tucked between a quiet, almost secluded street and a country club golf course, this project is a bold yet subtle addition to the neighborhood. The project’s concept began when approached by the client − two brothers, each with their respective families wanting to build their homes and futures in an affluent residential area. These characteristics prompted the project to take it’s form.
The project consists of two separate houses without them being detached from each other, to appear like a single, uniform building from the street, blending better into the residential context. The bold facade’s simple wooden louvers allows it to establish itself as a fresh entity. The interior is no different, the wooden louvers work functionally and decoratively, complementing each space by adding warmth and comfort.
Composed of three floors: the first floor contains the public spaces while also sharing a large backyard, the second floor accommodates private spaces and a family room, and the third floor features a roof deck and garden with a cantilevered trellis, similar in style to the wooden louvers. By giving each family their own space without severing their link, the project, at it’s core, promotes family and community. Project completed in 2023.
