The Epstein Family Amphitheater, a state-of-the-art venue opened in 2022, seats 2,500 people. It’s located near the Blue Line trolley station, with a park-like lawn when the venue is not in use.

Perched on the dramatic ocean bluffs of La Jolla, the new UC San Diego Theatre District Living & Learning Neighborhood addresses a critical challenge in contemporary campus design; fostering student success in an era of increasing loneliness and anxiety. Tours will traverse the 10-acre site that includes 2,000 undergraduate beds, classrooms, a meeting center, a Market Hall, and retail spaces. Experience a holistic approach to student wellbeing as you stroll through a meandering restorative ecological corridor featuring a meditation pavilion and three thematic zones supporting physical, mental/spiritual, and social wellness, framed by five dynamic residential buildings ranging from nine to 21-stories.

The Mandeville Art Gallery is an institute for transformative contemporary art. Previously known as the University Art Gallery, the Mandeville Art Gallery is a long-standing fixture on the UC San Diego campus with a five-decade history of presenting innovative art in the context of a major research university. Managed by the School of Arts and Humanities and located on the west end of the Mandeville Center for the Arts, the Mandeville Art Gallery operates as a venue for artistic exhibitions and events serving both the university and local community. In March 2023, it re-opened after extensive, award-winning renovations by Studio E Architects, for which it received an Orchid and an AIA San Diego Honor Award.

The Boardwalk, is a LEED-certified, three-building, 192,000 square foot state-of-the-art lab campus in a prime location within the Torrey Pines submarket. A dynamic namesake campus boardwalk directly links all three buildings to create a cohesive experience with various view decks, nature walks, and campus amenities. Bold landscape design and world class architecture set the new standard in the market, and a robust amenities package, including fitness, dining and conferencing spaces, provides a premium work/play experience for the campus tenants. As a bonus, attendees may view [recently installed] on-site beehives and bee hotels, which are vital in pollinating flowering plants around our campus and contributing to ecosystem health and plant diversity.

San Diego’s Fire Station 52, which opened in October 2024, is a 14,664-square-foot facility located on North Torrey Pines Road. It is home to the city'sfirst all-electric fire apparatus and a rapid electric vehicle charging station. The station addresses a service gap in the University City region, improving emergency response times and supporting future growth. The facility includes dorms, a kitchen, apparatus bays, a gym, and more, housing up to 8 firefighters and a Battalion Chief. The project was made possible through a partnership with UCSD, which contributed land and funding.

Located in the heart of Revelle College, 64 Degrees is a complete renovation and reimagining of A. Quincy Jones’ 1966 Revelle Dining Commons, the campus’ first dining hall. A traditional cafeteria style facility was upgraded to an engaged food market-style exhibition experience. Expansive outdoor dining and gathering spaces were added around the building to enchant students to linger and connect, making this an important part of the Revelle College community life.

Franklin Antonio Hall, a LEED Platinum building, is a 186,000 SF structure designed for collaborative research, active learning and the transfer of innovation to society. Thirteen large research facilities called “collaboratories” make up the heart of building. Each will house a collection of professor-led research groups from different but related disciplines. Together, these complementary research teams will pursue grand-challenge research in a wide variety of areas and disciplines.
A 250-seat auditorium, two 100-seat classrooms designed for active learning, and collaborative study space for students are also components of Franklin Antonio Hall. The building was awarded an Orchid from the San Diego Architectural Foundation in 2024.

The Israni Biomedical Research Facility is a 200,000 SF structure designed to be a collaborative environment that enables campus researchers from multiple disciplines to work together. The building received the Grand Orchid from San Diego Architectural Foundation in 2014. The facility houses wet and dry laboratories, support and core facilities, offices, and conference space. The building is organized into two distinct components, a five-story laboratory block and seven-story office block. A stimulating light-filled atrium is provided between the the blocks.

The building achieved LEED Platinum certification through the incorporation of features such as a dynamic, climate-responsive exterior solar shading system and water reclamation system that collects 890,000 gallons / year from condensate for re-use inside the building and 100% landscape irrigation.

Featuring a new 8,000 SF main catering kitchen for the campus, the Housing & Dining Services Administration Building is home to UCSD’s Catering and Housing, Dining & Hospitality staff. The coastal setting is evident in the building’s board-formed concrete base, a stair winding up a bluff face, a ramp ascending from the landscape, culminating in a sheltering pier-like overlook. The building’s rippling glass veil on the west side offers a functional response to the western sun condition without screening while evolving throughout the day with changing weather and solar conditions. Winner of an AIA San Diego Devine Detail Award.

Ventanas is a unique dining facility at UC San Diego, offering a focused menu that highlights ethnic variety and consistency. As the first to center its offerings on the Black Diaspora, it educates students about its culinary impact. The menu features authentic flavors that have traveled from Central Africa to the USA, providing both students and guests with a rich, cultural dining experience.
