Quartyard is an event venue and urban park constructed from repurposed shipping containers and is home to an eatery, full service beer garden, event venue, art space and coffee shop. It has remained in line with its original goal of activating vacant urban land into a vibrant outdoor community space, hosting a number of cultural events, outdoor concerts, private events, and street markets. Quartyard’s utilization of sustainable and innovative design offers guests a unique outdoor experience unlike any other.

Fault Line Park

Fault Line Park was the first park established in the East Village neighborhood. Spanning across 1.3-acres, this park was built on top of a strand of the Rose Canyon Fault system which park goers can see through the walkway that depicts the general line of the fault. One of the special features of the park is the “Fault Whisper,” two large 7-foot mirror-finished stainless steel spheres located on each side of the walkway meant to monitor the Rose Canyon Fault system.

RNT Architects recently moved from their long-time location in the Gaslamp district to a new space in the LEED Platinum Makers Quarter Block D building, designed by BNIM, in East Village. RNT's office occupies the entire fifth floor of the building and offers panoramic views out to downtown San Diego. The firm is delighted to welcome guests to tour their new space, view their gallery of architectural models and drawings, and enjoy their expansive balcony!

Punchbowl Social San Diego combines industrial and vintage design elements within the historic Coliseum Athletic Club building. The space preserves its original 1920s architectural charm with exposed brick walls, high arched ceilings, and large steel-framed windows that flood the interior with natural light. Eclectic furnishings, bold patterns, and retro-inspired decor create a playful yet sophisticated atmosphere. The multi-level layout integrates lounge areas, gaming spaces, and vibrant murals, blending classic Art Deco influences with modern social club aesthetics.

Ezabelle

An ambitious historical renovation and a narrow, unwanted plot of land: for Nakhshab, the vision for Ezabelle was clear. In late 2019, the remaining abandoned Italianate style home, originally built in 1882, was carefully dismantled and stored off-property while crews completed site upgrades. The home was then returned, completely rebuilt and restored, and incorporated into the ground floor of the modern mixed-use design, fitting neatly into the tiny plot of land that had deterred other developers.
Ezabelle features 46 thoughtfully-designed micro apartments replete with stylish finishes and built-ins that maximize square footage. Ground floor retail spaces boast a private open-air breezeway—perfect for outdoor seating.

The Sheldon House

The Sheldon House, a striking Queen Anne Victorian, was built in 1886 for Dr. F. C. Sheldon by renowned architects Comstock and Trotsche. This grand former residence reflects the prosperity of San Diego’s booming 1880s era with its ornate design and architectural elegance. Originally located at 11th and D Streets, the house was relocated to Island Street in 1913 and now serves as law offices. Its distinctive features include oversized windows adorned with original stained glass in a kaleidoscope of colors, intricate custom millwork, and soaring ceilings.

Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge
BRIDGE
Park to Bay Link, San Diego, CA 92101

This iconic bridge connects Balboa Park to San Diego Bay, completing the City’s 100-year-old vision of a Bay-to-Park link. This design challenged conventional bridge methods, with its 550-foot curved span supported by a 130-foot-tall, inclined pylon that supports stainless steel wrapped suspension cables along one edge of the bridge deck. To complement the project’s sculptural nature, a two-cab structural glass elevator tower showcases its cables and mechanics, while connecting the plaza level to the deck.

Izola Bakery

Izola is an artisan bakery located in San Diego's East Village, known for its innovative and high-quality croissants and sourdough bread. Founded in June 2020 during the pandemic by partners Jeffrey Brown and Jenny Chen, the bakery has grown from a unique cottage business to a spacious 7,211-square-foot flagship location.

Radian

The Radian is a new 22-story building sitting atop an existing historic 1930s building that combines residential, commercial, and parking spaces. It features 241 apartments, 36,000 square feet of commercial space, and five levels of above-ground parking, which serve as a transition between the tower and the ground level, a rooftop deck. The apartments are thoughtfully crafted with panoramic views and the rooftop deck allows tenants and visitors to enjoy the excitement of a game at Petco Park.
