The Provecho Coffee Bar Experience at Bread & Salt in Logan Heights integrates historical and industrial charm with modern design. Casa 129 collaborated closely with Provecho Coffee Co. and Bread & Salt to create an authentic space for coffee and art enthusiasts within the historic building, a former bread factory.
The project’s main challenge was integrating the coffee bar into the Mixer Room. This grand hall connects several art galleries while preserving the space’s historical elements, including the old flour mixing machine. The design honors the room’s heritage by blending the coffee bar seamlessly, making it feel like an inherent part of the environment.
A rotating LED neon sign featuring Provecho’s logo was placed atop the mixer, symbolizing the union of old and new. From the custom coffee bar constructed of plywood to the bistro tables with terrazzo tops and colorful stoneware filled with delicious coffee, creating a memorable experience from the moment you walk in.
The Provecho Coffee Bar design respects Bread & Salt’s heritage as a haven for imagination and creates a vibrant, welcoming space for the community.
