BARRIO LOGAN | CHULA VISTA | CITY HEIGHTS | LA MESA | NATIONAL CITY | SAN MARCOS | SOUTHEASTERN SAN DIEGO
The Mexican flair in Barrio Logan comes alive in every element of the culture — from its food and music to its art and design. The thriving neighborhood of families, business owners, artists and activists is among San Diego’s oldest Mexican-American neighborhoods. It’s also home to Chicano Park, a national landmark featuring the largest concentration of Chicano murals in the world. The park symbolizes Barrio Logan’s community spirit, born as it was from residents’ fight to keep the land from becoming a parking lot.
When OH! San Diego hits town (March 5th-12th), San Diegans can browse Barrio Logan’s vibrant wares during Walk the Block, a new outdoor experience that comes alive with music, food and merchandise for sale along Logan Avenue. Other OH! highlights: Students from Woodbury University and NewSchool of Architecture & Design will display their work during an outdoor art installation; see what’s in store at Bread & Salt; and get a behind-the-scenes look at the design of a new mixed-use development in the heart of Barrio Logan.
Gear Up: Die-hard cyclists have the Tour de France. San Diego design enthusiasts have a design-focused bike tour through Barrio Logan. Be there March 6th, when San Diego Cycling Public/Ron Miriello and OH! San Diego take you on a two-wheeled, journey through the neighborhood. On the agenda: Airstream restorations, a hidden oceanfront park, even unique alley-art. Limited to 25 riders. Cost: Suggested $25 donation supports the San Diego Community Bicycle Center in Liberty Station. Stay tuned for full details and registration info.

It takes a village, as they say. And around here, it takes a barrio. We couldn’t produce OH! San Diego without the help of those who lift us up along the way. In Barrio Logan, that means Planning Committee members and supporters such as M.W. Steele Group, TECTURE, LWP Group, Ryan Bros. Coffee, MIRIELLO, and Community Partner the Barrio Logan Association. Thank you all sooo much for your support!
