OH! San Diego Photo Contest

Calling all architectural photography enthusiasts – and artists!  The OH! San Diego Photo Contest is an opportunity to showcase OH 2022 sites and neighborhoods as seen through YOUR eyes. Submissions will be divided into five categories, and we will award 3 winners per category – fifteen chances to win!

Want to learn the art of sketching? BEEP KidSketch offers a series of architect-led one hour video tutorials for all ages where you can follow along and complete your own sketch of one our OH 2022 sites.

How to Participate

To make it easy to participate, the contest will be run exclusively through Instagram. So make sure you set up an Instagram account (if you need help, we’ll post an instructional video soon). To register for the contest LIKE, COMMENT, and FOLLOW SDAF (@SDArchitecture) on Instagram.

On the weekend of March 18 – 20, 2022, visit one of the seven neighborhoods featured as part of OH! 2022: Barrio Logan, City Heights, Coronado, Downtown, La Mesa, National City, and UC San Diego. Photos must be taken during OH! weekend and feature an OH site; Sketches must be uploaded during OH! weekend and feature an OH site. Once your photo or sketch is ready, upload it to your Instagram account. Add a brief caption about what inspired the photo, tag @SDarchitecture and add the hashtag #OHPhoto2022. There is no limit to the number of times you can enter.

Once uploaded, SDAF will repost to our account. We will tag you, the photographer/artist. Let’s get some buzz going . . . invite friends to LIKE SDAF’s post.

Announcing the Winners

The photo contest is a fun way to engage with the greater SDAF community through social media. Photographs will be evaluated by a jury that includes local architects, a professional photographer, and a member of the SDAF community. A winner in each category will be selected and announced via Instagram on March 25, 2022. Prizes may include restaurant gift certificates, OH! t-shirts, and sketch books. We will contact each of the winners via Instagram and you must respond within 24 hours to claim your prize.

 

 CONTEST RULES

  • Photos must be taken at one of the OH! Sites between March 18-20, 2022. Photos or sketches must feature an Open House 2022 site.
  • All entries must be submitted through Instagram by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022.
  • Winners will be announced on social media and SDAF will message the photographer. You must respond within 24 hours to claim your prize.
  • By submitting your photos to this contest, you allow SDAF to feature your photos on our website (SDarchitecture.org) as well as via email and social media posts (including promoted posts)
  • 3 winners will be selected in each category, for a total of 15 winners. Prizes may include a gift certificate from a participating local restaurant, OH! t-shirt, and/or BEEP sketchbook.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The ownership of the copyright in images submitted will remain yours and you are free to republish it wherever you wish and in whichever medium you wish. By submitting your photographs to OH! San Diego you grant the San Diego Architectural Foundation and OH! a non-exclusive right to use the image(s) on our website, social media, printed pieces and promotional materials relating to the San Diego Architectural Foundation, OH! San Diego And Open House Worldwide. We reserve the right not to accept/publish submitted photographs. Photographs submitted to competition must be the original work of the entrant.
