Background for the Scholarship

The $4,000 and $1,000 Scholarships were created in 1980 to honor a young architect who died at the age of 33 from Hodgkin’s disease. They have been created to acknowledge the loss of a young fellow professional whose enthusiasm for architecture and design has been a continuing inspiration to all who knew him. Prior to his death, Steve won several design awards, including an AIA Award of Merit for the Jordan Residence. He died just six months after becoming a licensed Architect.
