A few notes about tonight's PechaKucha Night...
Bar opens early. Presentations begin at 8:20, and take place in the courtyard, under the stars at MXD830 (830 25th Street). There will be plenty of hot toddy's and body heat, but be sure to bundle up, too!
$10 donation is suggested to offset SDAF production expenses.
Bring CASH for $5 drink tickets, available for the outside bar where aforementioned hot toddy's and other fun concoctions, as well as beer and wine, will flow.
Beer, wine and food are also available at our favorite neighborhood bistro, Counterpoint - and must be eaten and sipped on (or chugged) IN Counterpoint.
NO FOOD OR DRINK FROM COUNTERPOINT MAY BE TAKEN OUTDOORS.

On February 20, 2010, SDAF took part in a Global PechaKucha for Haiti event.
This year, another unimaginable crises has occurred and continues to unfold in Japan, home of PechaKucha Night, and another global event, Inspire Japan, will take place on April 16th.
Although SDAF is not officially taking part in this global Ustream event, PKN San Diego Volume 11 will be held as planned on April 20th, and SDAF will be donating a portion of the night's proceeds to Habitat For Humanity through PechaKucha. In addition, we are hoping to include a presentation to pay homage and Inspire Japan.
Do you have something to share based on Inspire Japan's main themes of INSPIRE, JAPAN, THE ISSUES or RECOVERY? Great ideas or solutions that help deal with the issues at hand whether earthquake, tsunami, nuclear or the road to recovery are all welcomed - or the additional presentation could simply be about things that inspire us (like PechaKucha), or Japan and how it has inspired you. If you do have something to say and 20 images to say it with, send a note to email@example.com.
Read more about Inspire Japan here. If you have something to share but not enough time to put a presentation together (we need your images by April 13), please write us anyway. We hold 4 PechaKucha Nights a year, and we believe the themes mentioned above will prove significant for a long time to come.

A Global PechaKucha Day benefit, "Inspire Japan" will be held on April 16. Learn more about it here:http://global-day.pecha-kucha.org/ A portion of the proceeds of PKN San Diego Volume 11 will be donated to the cause through PechaKucha Night.
PechaKucha is derived from a Japanese term meaning the sound of conversation, or chit-chat. PechaKucha Nights are creative, social and informal. The concept is simple: each presenter is allow...ed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds, giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of floor time and expression before the next presenter is up. Then there’s the 20 "rules". One of our favorites? Pecha Kucha Night is about thinking and drinking...
Presentations begin at 20:20 (8:20). Drinking starts well before.
For presenter information check out the PKN website: http://www.pecha-kucha.org/night/san-diego/11.
If you would like to present at PechaKucha Night San Diego, please send a note to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll get back to you as soon as possible with information on what we need to get you into the queue!
